The Brecon Waterfall Walk

106 0

The Winter is nearly upon us and it is time to start putting away summer clothes and lining our wardrobes with a large selection of aran sweaters, cosy coats and warm boots. The winter is a great time of year to get out and see the British countryside. With fewer people out and about it is easier to appreciate the quiet and the beauty, and if you are lucky you may be able to spot some local wildlife with fewer people out too!

There are lots of walks that you can enjoy over the winter – we are lucky to have such an array of stunning places to visit in every corner of the British Isles. But if you want to feel that enchanting magic of the wilderness, the Brecon Waterfalls walk is ideal.

This circular walk, on the edge of Fforest Fawr takes you on a journey through the most beautiful landscape – enchanting at any time of the year, by going in the winter you avoid the larger summer crowds. On the route you will be able to see four of the waterfalls of the region.

See the showstopping waterfall Sgwd yr Eira which is at the end of the trail – you can even walk behind the fall itself – but make sure you have a good pair of boots and don’t mind getting quite wet! This walk takes you through old woodlands, mossy banks – every so often, you will come across one of the four falls.
