| First Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety |

Every year 1 000 people die on the Bulgarian roads. The injured are over 10 000. Worldwide the fatalities are 1.3 million; the injured – over 50 million. On 19 and 20 of November 2009 more than 1 000 delegates will discuss the road safety problems on highest level in Moscow. Ministers of Interior, Transport, Health, Education and representatives of many non-governmental organizations from around the world will gather in the Russian capital for the First Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, organized in close cooperation with UN and the World Bank. The road accidents worldwide are a major cause of death of young people under 25 years of age. On 18 of November twenty-five representatives of youth organizations from six continents will gather to coordinate their common position during the next two days. Mr. Daniel Vankov, chairman of Open Youth, is invited by the World Health Organization to present the good experience of the organization in its road safety projects not only in Bulgaria, but in the European Union.
