16 - 24 August 2009 Lublin, Poland

On 16 August 2009 we were heading to the city of Nasutov to our international youth exchange. The theme of the exchange was “Let the clown free”, I guess from that name you can imagine how interesting and helpful at the same time this exchange was for us, but the details – a little bit later.
So, we were accommodated in Nasutov city, in eastern Poland, a place so green and beautiful, that it is difficult to describe in words, so I will illustrate it.
We met many young people and we learned interesting and useful things about, their countries and customs, and mostly we had the opportunity to practice and improve our knowledge in the English language.
Every morning we began with exercises for awakening and refreshment, which we performed on a huge green lawn, and then we “dived” into the world of juggling, or as we called it "an innocent way to hit your buddy in the head with something." And so in fun and laughter, we became very good friends and jugglers.
The evenings were filled with various interesting games for getting to know each other and integration. There was a campfire where we sang songs, told stories and, not to forget we ate delicious grilled sausages and fries.
The national evenings were extremely exciting, where we saw and learned a lot about other countries, tried their national dishes and drinks, danced and sang a lot.
The Bulgarian evening aroused great emotions among the other participants. We offered some typical Bulgarian food. Huge was the interest in the “banitza” and of course the natural brandy (rakia). We presented Bulgarian folk dances and wonderful photos of Bulgarian nature and culture.
Another interesting part of the project was our journey to the town of Kazimierz Dolny, where he saw and discussed various historic landmarks with our new friends and even showed local people how well we already juggled.
We also visited the city of Lublin, the largest city in eastern Poland. We had a lot of fun there. We juggled, took walks, spoke with people, we were even a part of a local TV film. That was the day before the last day of our project, that none of us will forget.
It’s difficult for me to stop telling stories about out experience. I will conclude with the following words: This project was our next step into the world of other countries, their lifestyle, culture, spirituality, our next step towards new acquaintances and friends and especially a great adventure, filled with parties and many pleasant emotions!
