Hungary has never been on the list of countries that I necessarily have wanted to visit. But when the organization "Open Youth" asked me to participate in a project there, I haven’t even thought whether to go. And looking back, I do not regret that I did it. These were two memorable weeks not only for me, but I claim and for the whole Bulgarian group.

Eco-camp was held in Kaposhvar. This is the main city of Somogy area. The city is full of greenery and offers its visitors many opportunities for fun. We had the opportunity to meet a great number of monuments of culture and Hungarian history, situated in this city. We discovered the natural beauty of Gyertyanyos forest and lake Deseda, located on the outskirts of Kaposhvar and also Lake Balaton. We visited the town of Pec, which is full of architectural monuments of art, culture and history. During our travels we learned a lot about Hungarian history - from its creation until today. We tried the traditional dishes of Hungarian cuisine and traditional drink palinka. In the stud farm, located near Kaposhvar, we had the opportunity to try the traditional techniques of survival inherent in the Hungarian tribes - archery, horse riding and others.

Our hosts had prepared a variety of games, aiming to make the participants closer, to teach us what is teamwork, respect and tolerance to others. So we get to know people from different European countries, part of their culture and way of life. And most importantly - we became friends. One advantage of a national group was practicing English.

The workshops familiarized us with the problems of environmental and water protection and the proper exploitation of the Earth. We spent an entire day to make pieces of waste. Special seminar led by the most famous Hungarian meteorologist Lajos Nemet, showed us the climate in the country.

Two weeks passed away in lot of laughter and conversation with new friends. Tears appeared in our eyes when we had to leave the group and the country. But positive emotions and memories will remain forever in our minds and hearts! We'll miss you!
