03 - 10 December 2007 Vurshets, Bulgaria
On April 27th, 2007 in Brussels the Chairman of “Open Youth”, invited by Mr. Jacques Barrot, Vice-chariman of the European Commission, signed the European Road Safety Charter on an official ceremony in the EC headquarters. With this signature the association committed to contribute to saving 25000 human lives in Europe by promoting road safety in its youth projects. By the “Youth and road safety” project we planned to explore the media methods to influence the public opinion and how this reflects the road safety. Youth from five partner organizations, using methods of non-formal education and intercultural dialogue, learned to actively work with media and to revial their hidden messages. They had the opportunity to see themselves the power of the media. A youth seminar was carried out as a follow-up activity, where besides the Bulgarian participants in the current exchange, young participants in other exchange project of the association were also invited. There we disseminated what was learned during the project. The other participants were also given opportunity to present and disseminate their good practice from youth projects.
