YouPS-Net: Network of Youth Participation Projects Using Football for Social Inclusion

3 - 8 September 2006 Zakopane, POLAND

ImageThe participants from the Bulgarian group said that this was one of the most interesting and useful experiences in their life - the international youth camp in Poland. It was in Zakopane, a town placed in Tatra mountains. There were participants from five different countries: Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany and Poland. The youth camp took place from 3 to 8 September 2006 with the partnership of the “Open Youth” association. The topic of the camp was “Sport” (especially football), but also integration and communication. The main aim was to made us more talkative and more active in different kinds of sport. For this reason, our friends from Poland were prepared very well. He had a great trainer (Luiza) and perfect organizers (Michal, Agnieszka, Johan…) and with them was easier to reach the aims of the project. In this camp we had to participate in different kinds of sport games. There aims were to make us stronger, faster and the most important – to work as a team. The activities were very interesting and all of us had a lot of fun, like skiing without snow, the electric wall game and etc. Actually all of the participants were very talkative, friendly, open-minded and active in the tasks. We had very nice conversations with the others and we found that it was easy especially with the polish group. It was surprising how many similarities we have in our languages. Sometimes it was possible to understand each other without translation or using English. In the evenings we had a lot of fun, jokes and parties all night.

Image Another part of the project which was very interesting and unforgettable was the trip to Ausswitz. The aim of the journey was to show us the horrible events that happened to the people who were living there during the Second World War. There were killed about 1 million Jews. The concentration camp is a memorial of everyone who found the end of his life there.

On the way to Ausswitz we were in place where was born the Pope Joan Pawel ІІ and we stop to taste his favorite cakes.

At the same time the other part of our group visited the Five Lakes Valley. They said that it was too difficult but really beautiful and it worth the climbing.

The last part of the camp was the international evening when each country had to show something special. We performed a traditional Bulgarian dances and represent our red and white wine. We liked very much the Polish presentation – their barbecue was amazing and the singers and the players from the band gave us a lot of positive emotions. The evening was very exiting and maybe a bit educational.

Of course we want to say that there was one person who was always ready to have fun and to play with everybody. For us he become a symbol of the camp and we would like to say “We all love you Antosz!”
