7 - 15 July 2006 Nasutow, POLAND

From 7th until 15th of July 2006 European Meeting Center- Nowy Staw Foundation organized international youth exchange “The walk of life” in which took part young people from four european countries:Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain and Poland. The participants of the exchange were from 15 to 24 years old.

The main goal of the exchange was to give oportunity for young people from diffrent counties to exchange an experiens and opinions about styles of life in their countries.

For eight days participants were meeting in the workshops groups connected with diffrent steps of human's life. They tried to discover similarities and diffrences in our daily and whole life from chilhood by school time, youth and an old age and show it by art.

During the workshops of chilhood participants were talking about national and international fairy- tales and memories of the childhood. The result of their work is the photo exhibition and graffity showed world seen with an eyes of a child.

The next step of human's life which they were talking about was a school time. During work in the workshops groups they were discuss about differences in education system in their countries and the most important problems taking place in schools, like- drugs, alkohol, valance and discrimination.

The third step was a time of building our own families and a work time. Youth were talking about dreams, plans and expectations for own future but also for a future of the whole world. They tried to imagine how will look the world in 25- 30 years.

The last step of the project “ The walk of life” was conversations about an old age. They were comparing life’s situation of old people in four countries and their role in our socity.

Eight days, during which they were together, they spent working hard but also having a good fun. This time they spent learning new skills, the example is the skill of decorating T-shirts ( workshop lead by Spanish group) but also playing (outdoor exercises, games ).

Youths got possibility to meet new people from diffent countries and cultures, to learn something about each other and from each other. They also had a time to relax and discover some parts of Poland during the journeys to Kazimierz Dolny- beautiful town at the Vistula rever and journey to Lublin.

The main result and the goal of the project were common preparing to a theater performance about steps of human's life. Youth divided themselves in to 3 groups. There were- childhood, youth age and an old age. Every group had to prepare 3 diffrent moments from a life. They choose one main element which tried to present.

The groups had freedom with choosing the methods of the work and showing the subject. They made by themselve scenario and scenography.

Theater performance and exhibition of art made by youth during the project took place in Nasutow- village where they were living at 14th of July 2006.
