| The Story of us |
30 - 6 April 2006, Zakopane, POLAND
Zakopane is situated in the south part of Poland in the West Tatry, near the border with Slovakia. This is where a youth exchange project took place from 30 March to 6 April. The participating countries were Poland, Slovakia, Latvia and of course Bulgaria. The idea of the project was to write stories about youth activities in the four different countries. The main aim was to publish a book with those stories and produce a DVD with photos on how we work together and get to know each other better. During the Workshops we learned a lot of things about all participants, their language and interests. We worked in teams a lot and had great time during the games we played for relaxation. We were able to explore Zakopane while we were there. As well as this we had the opportunity to visit Krakow, the birth place of the former Pope. Our assignment there was to take photos of the most important sightseeing places-The Wawel and other important spots. We had a nice, long walk around the city. For the time we were in Zakopane we managed to make friends with everyone and get to know their cultures. In the national evenings we tried traditional food and drinks, and learned some important facts about the countries. Presentations allowed us to see pictures from different parts of Europe and find out about Polish, Latvian and Slovak history. The Bulgarian national evening was the best according to all participants. Everyone enjoyed the ring dances and our music. They will never forget it. This exchange was a great experience and an opportunity to get closer to foreign culture and young people from different European contries.
