The Mystery of Village in the Common Heritage |
15 - 22 September 2005, Antalya, TURKEY
In a first glance Antalya may be is not the perfect place for the main aim of the project – Agriculture. The combination of warm see and nice hotels sounds like a vacation more than a serious work but when the conditions for the participants and their preparation is on a high level then everything is possible.
The project took place in Antalya from 15th till 22nd of September 2005 with the participation of youngsters from Poland, France, Belgium, Turkey and Bulgaria. The first thing that we saw that the city of Antalya is a real resort with a lot of visitors from the hole world, place full of history and traditions and thanks to the organizers the sea was only 15 meters from our hotel.
According to the program we had a lot of interesting meetings. The first one was in the local Faculty of Agriculture where some professors shared their experience with us. We also had an open lesson about the variety of fruit and vegetables that are growing in Turkey (good reason for future business). Really useful was our visit in the private plantation where we saw a lot of potential in producing citruses and vegetables (good work of Ahmed and his family). We also show our potential when we had visit in the brewery. ? We had the luck to visit the home of the 100 most expensive caws in the world. We had a small competition in milking them (Usuf! Who was the winner?). We left an important trail that will stay along after our being in Antalya. One of the primary school situated in a village near the city was totally paint with fresh colors from the participants of the exchange. Very beautiful were the greenhouses full with different kinds of cactuses.
Enough about the work because there were a lot of cool things that we did in our free time.
No. 1. Rafting – something that everyone from the Bulgarian group did for a first time. Now Kosta can swim everywhere and Vladi can jump from everywhere. Very pleasant was the travel with the boat around the city and having lunch in a restaurant on the river. Something very special was our meeting with the spirit of the ancient culture during our visit of popular amphitheater. We really hope that the letter we wrote to the Turkish Ministry of Culture will be heart and this monument will be saved for the next generations.
