Media, Sports And Human Rights |
29 July - 7 August 2005 Szeged, HUNGARY

For many volunteers from “Open Youth” this was their first exchange. It took place in Szeged, Hungary 2005. The countries that participate in the exchange were four: Bulgaria, Spain, Greece and, of course, Hungary. As the name of the project shows- our main end points were to make a video film, radio broadcast and a newspaper. The video film had to show the difference to the nations, but also the common points. Most of the time we were discussing the script, and of course shooting the film. The radio broadcast and the newspaper showed some interesting facts and customs from each country.
The skills we have learned will utterly help us in our future realization. Surely the most interesting part was the sport activities with handicapped people and the discussions and workshops on one of the most important issues nowadays- Human Rights. We also played some interesting games during this workshops and this was the best way to integrate each other and to make new friends.
One of the days spent there we made a tour in Szeget to learn how to orientate with map in the city, and we had the chance to see its beauty and go sightseeing among river Tissa.
We have also played volleyball, basketball and some athletics as handicapped people. One day was spent in a historical park near Szeged, where some of the sport activities took place. Emotions split with much work and how the Spanish group said- “Much Siesta”.
