27 October - 4 November 2005, Athlone, IRELAND
From 27.10.2005 to 04.11.2005 in the town of Athlone (Ireland) was successfully realised the serial international project with the participation of the “Open Youth” association. This time the selected topic was exceptionally serious and requiring a good preliminary preparation. Discrimination is a problem for all countries in the world, but the way of solving it is different for each one. In respect of this the Bulgarian group was very well prepared, since the association works on a long-term project on this theme, and one of its aims is popularizing of the newly accepted act for campaign against discrimination. This helped the younf people from the town of Vidin to show knowledge, which their coevals from Pech (Hungary), Cuimbra (Portugal), Sevilla (Spain) and Athlone (Ireland) are yet to begin acquiring.
According to all participants in the project, the collaboration of the Bulgarian group was really impressive. Te workshops, prepared and led by them, were unanimously defied as the most successive ones, since each of the participants was involved in the common work and could freely express their opinion, give suggestions and ideas for overcoming discrimination.
The national presentations of so different countries were, as always, met with great interest. The most important thing for us was, that we tickled the others’ fancy for Bulgaria and the town of Vidin and made everyone join our Danube horo.
The meeting with the not-so-known Ireland was of a big interest for the Bulgarian group. The gathering with local people, the visits of the capital Dublin, the towns of Athlone and Eness and the walks by the Atlantic ocean coast enriched the Vidin young people and gave them the chance to experience unique moments. We have to mention the esteem we were held in and the consideration we were taken into. This was proved also from the mayor of the host town.
And here we would like to express our gratitude to the mayor of Vidin, whohelped in the successful realizating of this project, to the hosts, who did their best so that everything passed without any problems and to our group, who presented Bulgaria and Vidin with dignity.
